Nevertheless, those who still want to enjoy Nero’s powerful features, but without paying that much for a license, can use Nero 9 Free, a freeware version of the tool that lacks some of the tools included in the full suite. Installation shouldn’t be too difficult if you skip the part when you’re asked whether to install the Ask Toolbar or not, but we must warn that it could take a while until all files are successfully copied on the computer. Nero isn’t delivered in a very light package, but this is kind of obvious since it has to comprise so many advanced features. As always, using the software depends on how fast you get used to it. Still, if you’ve used Nero in the past, everything is piece of cake. It has a pleasant and clean interface, with the main functions displayed at the top of the main window on tabs. Nero is still a great product when it comes to burning data on CDs and DVDs, so doing this is actually a baby’s job. Just pick the files you want to copy on a disc, make the final adjustments, such as burning speed and disc name, and you’re ready to go. Overall, it is a good thing to see Nero finally available with a free license, but keep in mind that this package only comes with the basic features.
