You will be provided with a few options which require a little bit of experience to be able to use the right. The options are in a small number, but they are pretty advanced, so if you don’t know your stuff that will be a real bummer as Norman Malware Cleaner does not include any type of help file that could guide the less experienced users.
The thing which is the most in my opinion is the fact that when you start a scan you there is no way to know how long the process will take until it’s finished. Not only that the program doesn’t indicate how many minutes remain until the end of the scanning process, but it doesn’t even provide a progress bar (which would be much better than nothing). Another thing worth mentioned is that the developer’s official website does offer a few pre-scan recommendations, but in case you don’t already know about that you’d have no idea that they even exist because the program does not mention anything about this.
After the scan is over, you will be provided with a report, but don’t get me wrong. It’s just a list that contains the findings. You won’t be able to do anything with it because Norman Malware Cleaner will take its own decision when it comes to removing corrupt files. You’ll just have to watch while it does the job.
It does indeed delete only malware, not good files and most users probably won’t be bothered by the fact that they don’t have any control of the files that follow to be erased as long as the job gets done properly. However, others won’t like not having any choice of control of a process that takes care of their computers’ security.
All in all, Norman Malware Cleaner does a great and effective job, but the fact that it doesn’t offer much of a choice when it’s deleting the malware is kind of important setback.
